busy day

Started out unloading the corral panels from the stock trailer. I was supposed to have help but she bagged me and never bothered to call me and tell me she wasn't coming. If you tell somebody you are going to do something then damn well do it.

Next job was to remove the faucet from the barn since it has been leaking for days.  I shut the water off last night so I could empty the tank before this am.  I pulled off the faucet which was easy as pie and put on another one which was also easy. Found the plumbers tape and a brand new faucet that I had bought last year and didn't really need so it now has a red handle but it's cold water.

Then moved on to transferring cows to another area which meant  transferring the feeder, the stock tank and worst of all the hoses. They were going 100 ft or so , so that means multiple hoses that preferably do not leak.  I had to change a few out and if I did not have the golf cart to ride back and forth to the barn in I would be cripple and in bed right now.  Finally got the auto waterer set up , but I have a feeling there are minor leaks in the hoses so I may not use the auto waterers.

Then I hitched up the stock trailer and went to tractor supply to exchange the bolts that I got for the kennel fencing. Turns out they are wrong again.  I then went to pick up my new registered Barbadoes sheep. 2 ewes and a ram. The owner switched out the ram I bought with a much better one because she really did not want him butchered and that is where he was headed.  She said in about 1 yr he will go for $400.  NICE

Unloaded them and they settled right in.  And then started working on the chicken coop again. Lots of thought go into this. 1 board up and 1 hr of thinking. LOL.  While I was working on my 1 board , I saw Posey go thru the fence in with the cows.  good thing she is still coming when I call her.  YIKES

chicken coop and dog kenel

So Barb came over and helped me move all the dog kennel fencing to the back where we put up a couple of panels in the dog yard and we also put 3 panels around where we are going to house the ducks and chickens.  I am trying to figure out how to enclose them without locking them into a closed up box.  I think I am going to do 2 ft plywood on the bottom followed by 4 hardware cloth on the top.  Still don't want to do the floor at all. I like the sand floor but I guess as soon as something digs under to get the chickens I will be regretting it.  Maybe I could partially cover the edges. Sounds like a lot of work down on my knees.  Yech

Tomorrow I pick up the cows but I have not put any water tanks out for them and I had to leave my feeder in Mass so I have no hay feeder or grain feeder for them.  I"ll think of something.

Journey to the vet(yet again)

Time to try and see what is wrong with him again.  She put him under to xray his nose, head, throat and heart. Everything was perfectly normal. She flushed his nose with saline and caught the flushing in the back of his throat on gauze and then took a sample to get it tested. Also did a complete blood panel (all normal).  IT took a lot of saline to get his nose cleaned out of thick heavy snot.  She thinks now he may not be making normal snot so I am supposed to thin his discharge with in influx of saline every morning. I don't think he is going to be cooperative.  Lots of treats in his future I think.

Also waiting for culture because she thinks maybe his cough is an infection . Not sure how that works , but I 'll give it a try.  If I know that is what he has to deal with for his life I can do it, but no one has convinced me of that yet. IF it's abnormal snot maybe chinese meds will help.

Tried to move kennel panels by myself today and soon stopped. Too much work.

Looked at back of shed to figure out how I am going to make the chicken coop back there. AT first I was going to close it all in with plywood, but it looks like that would be  a mistake down here. Too hot so now I am going to go with primarily hardware cloth although I hate working with it.  Not sure if I am going to put any kind of a floor in. Really don't want to.

Made a tasty pork roast in the slow cooker today.  Most of the time I hate the way stuff tastes in it but this was good.  It's a keeper. I  over cooked it, but that was operator error.

All Moved to Fla

The house is Mass closed yesterday. Buyer pissed me off so I dont' want to talk about it.  Asshole.

So I am gradually getting the stock trailer unloaded of dog kennel fencing and boxes etc.  Some furniture too. I called a guy who worked for me last year and he is going to come over tomorrow am and help me move the dog kennel fence that I cant budge and hopefully the tv cabinet that I also cannot budge.  Once I get it emptied , I can start picking up STUFF.

For instance: I bought 5 cows yesterday and I need to go get them and get hay for them since the fields are pretty sparse. Even when they are growing they aren't very good.  And today I bought 10 call babies although now that they are unloaded, at least 3 do not look like call ducks. Time will tell. I also bought 2 laying hens and one presented me with an egg in the dog crate and the owner said she wasnt laying yet.  I guess she is. I put them in the dog kennel by the barn, and Timer and Kip harrassed the hell out of them so I had to put up my goat panels too so they can't get close enough to them.

Also stopped at a craft fair on the way home and bought myself a Christmas present. A butter dish. It's really pretty.

I"ve been remiss

I finally have decent wifi here in Fla. so that will allow me to post more hopefully.

The dogs keep coming in smelling like shit.  I thought it was something dead, but now I think it is shit they are either rolling in or more likely falling in.  I guess  I need to go out and clean up their yard, but that does not explain Kip coming in smelling bad.  It's not nice.

Tomorrow is my 2nd meeting with the LOWES people re: my new kitchen.  I have decided on cabinets and backsplash, sink, lighting , and faucets. I'm still undecided on countertop and flooring and island. They are very eager to do a LOT of stuff which I am putting the brakes on.

My trailer stinks since Stacey left last week. She had a dog get sick in there and it is obviously not cleaned up adequately. Problem is I can't see anything but I sure can smell it. Apparently a dog ate a bunch of dog food and puked a lot.

I picked up a bookcase at Carriage Trade today and left them my 2 bathroom mirrors that were so disturbing to me. HUGE.  I also picked up a really nice outside lounge chair to lie in the sun. Can't wait to use it.

Dogs are bored with no livestock to work. I will start looking when I get back from Mass. I have to go back and pick more stuff up, make sure house is ready to close and come back. Long trip and the car feels like it is doing a lot of vibrating.

catch up

I almost panicked tonight b ecause I though Journey ate the cap off a Iced tea bottle, but I finally found it. That's all he needs is major sugery.  BTW his nose seems to be doing really well. I just gave him the last antibiotic for an infection that popped up 2 weeks ago. You could smell something vile in his nose.  No smell anymore, but who knows where that came from .  Might have been an abcess breaking open although there was no discharge.  Anyway nose looks good and for the most part he can keep it clean and open himself. And on a high note, he seem to be learning how to open the doggie door without my help although he still does not understand he can come and go when he wants. He waits for me to call him in and let him out.  BUT he is definitely house broken. He scratches at the nearest door when he wants to go out\. Not ideal but better than the alternative.

I had surgery on my tear ducts on Thurs. It went pretty easily. In at 6:15 and home by 10:30. NO pain to speak of, but the tubes they put in are a little uncomfortable and I want to rub my eyes and I can't.  Tubes will be in for a month if I don't pull it out (by accident of course).I  put this surgery  off 4x  and finally decided I had to go thru with it. I hope if fixes my eyes. I hate them being wet all the time and not being able to see clearly.

My cows are really working very nicely this year.  They are small and the dog got them in line pretty quickly.  They did challenge at first , but Kip bit and Edge bit and they decided turning away was a smarter option.
I spend a great deal of my outside time killing gypsy moth caterpillars. THey  are so disgusting and there are so many of them. Today I got a spray in the mail and I can spray the peach tree and the shade trees I planted and hopefully save them.

I am doing 2 clinics here in Aug.  My first time doing a clinic. It will be fun. One is going to  be all  beginner Shelties and the other will be dif breeds and dif levels. I might try and schedule a clinic with Jean Barrett too in Sept. I haven't talked to her about it yet.

Trial and hOme

So on the way home from Fla I stopped at a friends house to work his stock and stayed there for 3 days on my way to the Berryville Fa ASCA trial. Great hospitality and lovely stock and property.  It was a beautiful area of VA although the hills are a bit much.  Part of the reason I live in FLA.   I hate hills.
Working Aussies of Va. held the trial and the stock was all very fair and even.  I though I had my dog tuned up but I was so wrong.  Edge was completely out of control on must runs and so was Kip.  Although Kip could hold it together long enough to win a few  of his classes except not cows.  He did well on ducks and I think sheep although I really can't remember. He did get High Combined, He seemed pretty sound most of the weekend although I am still dealing with his lameness.

Home on Monday and it was so muddy in the driveway I could not get the trailer into pasture and turned around. I just dropped it in the middle of the driveway.
I have been working non stop since I got home, fixing gates, mulching, planting, mowing and spending lots of time getting tractor and lawn tractor to work.  All set now, mouse nests all cleaned out and motor cleaned out and all gassed up and got both started . Also had to charge batteries.

The freezer in the cellar got disconnected again this year, so I have to take more rotten meat to the  dump. I keep putting it off.  Cleaned the gutters, ripped out a board full of carpenter bee holes.  need to replace it with a painted board.  roof needs replacing, yay
All this in between a full schedule of lessons.  Today it was cold and rainy so I spent most of the day doing nothing but then I decided to call on some hay which of course means hooking up the trailer and going to get it. PiA.
And I am cleaning the house out ,,sorting something every day.  slow ly

sorry

It's hard to post while  I am in Fla because I usually have no data and so my hotspot wont' work.  It's the beginning of a billing cycle so I am flush with data right now and I will be home  to Mass in a week so I will have my wifi back again.
Kip is still lame and I have been taking him and Journey to a Chinese medicine/herbalist and accupuncture vet.  She is very nice but I am not seeing any results.  I am getting very frustrated with Kip being lame all the time.  I restrict his activity but he doesn't seem to get any better.  Maybe when I am home I can get Stacey to give him regular massages.  I think I feel heat in his right shoulder everytime I touch him so you would thing that would be treatable.  He is entered in a trial next weekend so I will be taking the rimadyl with me.
Journey was put on 3 different herbals and she was sure I was going to see a change. I see nothing different..  I am going for  a last appt tomorrow and then I am again running out of options.  Poor little guy.  Such a sweetie.

It's very hot down here today. 90's so I have done nothing but watch tv all day.  I will go out later and work Edge and pick some more cactus.  I did spray the yard for dog fennel and some pricker bush that seems to be popping up. I have to go out and do the pasture before I leave.

I am gradually moving things into the trailer so I will be ready to leave on Sunday.  I am picking up stuff outside and putting it away little by little.  I could do more but then what would I do for the next 4 days.

I sold the sheep to a local dealer.  He is coming to get them on Sat.  He's getting s great deal and hopefully he will save me 3 dehorned goats for next Nov when I come back.

Today I dropped the remote for the overhead fans and it changed the settings on it and I can' get the fans to turn on anymore.  damn

New tires for the car before I drive home.  They just didn't look good enough to drive all that way on. I also ordered TPMS sensors so the alert on the car will shut off.

Just about done watching the 3rd seasonn for the Blacklist.  What a great show!

ewe lamb

Cute little ewe lamb was born last Tues.  She is doing very well.  Day before yesterday I was given a baby to try and keep alive.  He had not been fed for over 24 hrs and he didn't make it.  His mother was a bitch.  She had twins and wasn't feeding either of them but her little ewe lamb somehow was stronger and made it and is now doing ok.  The boy never got a good feeding and just couldnt recover. They were not my sheep or it would have lived probably because I would have tied the ewe up so he could feed. oh well I tried.

Laura and Greg Hamer stopped by for a couple of days.  We sent ot Rainbow river state park and we went swimming in the headwaters.  It was lovely.  I will definitely go again. I bought a poo noodle for the next time which may very well be today. Hot today but cloudy.

Kip has been lame for 2 months and the vet seems to think it is related to a disc.  He is on homeopathic meds and I am confining his activity because when he runs , he gets worse..
Journey is the same.  He is also on a new homeopathic so I am hoping that will do something. He can breathe and the infection is gone, but he cannot clear his own nose out and does not have a normal wet nose. He did start to work a little better when he could breathe, but the jury is still out on how talented he may end up being.  But darn he is cute and entertaining.

My lessons here have dwindled to nothing. Some of my students were snowbirds and they have left.

I am starting to plan my trip home which won't be for another 6 weeks.  Need to get my ducks in a row.
Speaking of ducks, i took the ducks out to work them and Edge stepped on one and broke a leg.  We splinted it but who knows if that will work. Ir was broken in more than one place.
These muscovys aren't very good to work.

Hopefully next year I can get something else. And some chickens too.

At the beginning of the month I was on a mission to rid myself of cactus from the fields. It took me 2 weeks of 1-3 hrs daily to get the majority dug up.  I still go out daily and find new ones, but at least I can take the dogs out and not really worry about their feet.  And it's kind of addictive to dig them up. I don't know why.

I had Greg cut a tree down next to the dog pen yesterday, It was on top of a bottle brush plant so I am pretty sure it was not supposed to be there. It does let a lot morelight into the deck and even into the house.  Still trying to get used to that.

I haven't updated this blog mainly because I ran out of data.   Still not finding a good internet service down here or a good way to do hotspot.

Sheep dies

I went out to work the dogs this morning and all the sheep and the goats came down from the pasture to get fed.  I separated them and then realized I was short 1 sheep. It's not that hard when you only have 8 head of livestock to begin with. Anyway I went out to look for her with the golf cart and the tarp that I have been picking up cactus with dragging  behind. I found her dead up in the corner of the pasture.  She was stiff and cold and had foam coming out of her nose and mouth. reddish foam   I tipped her over onto the tarp and dragged her right out to my car.   I thought about calling my neighbor to help me get her in the back but ,  I didn't think he would like it too much.  So I dragged over a piece of plywood and tipped her onto that and lifted one end of the plywood onto the back of the car.  I the tied a rope to her feet and hopped (hahha) into the back and dragged her up the plywood into the car onto a piece of plastic.  And off we went for a joyride.

I don't know why she died.  No animal attack, possible snake bite.  possible weed poisoning  but there is not much coming up out there yet.  No clue but hopefully she is the only one.  On an up note, I think maybe one of my ewes is bred and bagging up.

I have spent hrs daily in my golf cart digging up the 5 acre field of cactus.  Today, I feel I am close to finished. I am letting the dogs back out there and I am having a much harder time finding the little buggers.  I think I got most of the big ones and all that is left is the ones that are hard to see. BUT the freaking golf cart is stopping and not starting much more often and driving me nuts.  Tomorrow I will call and see if they will come and get it and repair the damn thing.

I have been looking at some upcoming trials, but Kip is dead lame still.  I may enter, but probably not him.  I will call the vet again tomorrow and get him in for an xray this time..

Journery's nose is pretty good, but he does not appear to have a normal discharge from it.  It's dry a lot of the time which causes it to get clogged up a lot.

Monday, March 6, 2017

I have made a huge error by hiring someone to mow my fields 2 yrs in a row.  I have spread the cacti far and wide and so I am spending 2 hrs a day digging up cactus.  With Kim's help, the field next to the house is done, but compared to the big filed there was not much cactus in it.  The big field is just loaded .  So much so that I would hesitate to send a dog in there to gather the stock.  So I am going to dig the little bastards out by hand.  I could spray but then there would still be all those sharp needles out there for the dogs to step in so I am removing them.  I have probably gone over 1/3 of the field so far. It's kind of hard work, but makes me sleep at night.

Journey's nose.  Ahh what can I say, it's just not right.  I should not have to pick his nose every day  to keep it clear. There is still blood on the inside.  I wonder if that is from the surgery or from the rhinoscopy 4 mos ago.

Kip has been lame for over 4 weeks now.  It might be from fence running so I am trying to keep him inside and not allowing him to run or work.  Not sure what else to do .  Why are there no clearcut answers to my problems?

excited too soon apparently

It looks like the ice maker in the frig worked for a couple of days and now it appears to not be working again. Yay

I found the exact Mexican sink at a yard sale yesterday that I was shopping for online. Online it was about $140 and I got it for $35  Whoo hooo SCORE!!!

I picked up a couple of other things too. I ceramic planter and a couple of cute kitchen towels and an oil painting. cute but not old.

Journeys nose is still plugged up every morning.  Not happy. me or him Tomorrow is our follow up visit for this little surgery.

Betty and Tom are on their way down and should be here this afternoon.  They are staying for a few days and then we are all going to Rogers for an ASCA trial.  I haven't worked my dogs for a while. Kip is lame in his right front but I dont' know why. I have a suspition (sp) but I hope I am wrong.

Jaby

This morning he pulled the coffee maker off of the counter and broke the top off. It will still work, but It' s not fixable.  I moved the sofa table away from the couch because he was walking all over it but now I have to keep him from jumping from the couch to the table.  He'll kill himself.

How dumb is he?  I moved the dog crate from it's normal position in the car so when I opened the door to let him out(it's a side door) and I did not stand directyl in front of the door but to the rear of the crate , he could not figure out how to get out.  Hmmmm

Nose looks really good at this minute of this day!

I'm so excited

My ice maker is working again in my frig!!  In Oct when the pump went, I got a lot of sediment in the lines and it blocked a valve.  I replaced the valve 2 weeks ago but the ice maker would not turn on so I though maybe I needed to buy a new ice maker or " a new refrigerator" but I procrastinated and low and behold last night it decided to work and today I have a pan full of ice and I am a happy camper today,
Now if Journey will just get better.  His nose looks a little clearer today and probably no bleeding today.  He did pee in his crate this am because I did not get up when he whined a little this morning.  He was in there for a long time last night.

Jaby baby

I have never ever ever had a puppy that got in so much trouble all the time.  I have to keep him inside and handwalk him for the next week to keep his nose out of the dirt so this morning I let him out of the crate and I watched him. First he goes and pulls stuff off the counter and I follow him around and pick it up and put it farther back.  He tried it again. He goes to the island and tries to grab a bag of peanuts so I move that back. He wanders around and takes the end of the string on the wooden blinds and bites the end off which is wood so it is not easily replaced. I pick that up and he picks up a toy for a while.  I sit down and he grabs  a sneaker to chew on. I get up take the sneaker and put it in the other room . He follows me , jumps on the bed and grabs a loose tissue and tears it apart. I take that away and go sit down and he walks by the coffee table and starts to chew on the corner.  I yell which causes no reaction and start to get up and he stops.  He jumps on the couch and then from there jumps on the coffee table , grabs my earmuffs and runs off. I finally get the earmuffs and put them in the other room and he comes back in and starts chewing on my muck boots. I stop that and he goes back to the kitchen and tries to get some meds off the counter to chew on. I push them back farther and there is nothing there now that he can reach. So he wanders into the living room and tries to pull the plug to the computer out of the wall. Then finds a cardboard box he wants to chew up but I dont' want him to.  FINALLY  he lays down and goes to sleep.

Jaby Baby 2

I took him back to the vets today for his 10 day follow up. He has been on clavamox, steroid  noise spray, decongestant pills, and opthalmic drops in his nose.  His nose cleared up quite a bit but when you looked at the nostrils they were not as open as the other dogs. I made that comment and the vet looked at him and said it looked like he had extra skin or growths blocking  his nostrils.  So she put him out and cut out the extra tissue.  IF AND THAT IS A BIG IF , that was the problem then he could not clear his own nose out when he breathed so he kept getting infections.
EVERYBODY CROSS  YOUR FINGERS.

I have to keep him in a crate and hand walk him for a week so he stays out of the dirt and keeps the wounds clean and they heal right up.  So he is already driving me nuts.  He howled and cried while I was giving a lesson and then when I came  in  after I fed him, He cruised the counter and ate my leftover lunch which was my supper.  Now he is back in the crate because his nose was bleeding a little.

ON a more positive note, I worked him yesterday and I was actully quite pleased with his work.  Maybe that nose thing is the problem.

JABY BABY

I may be wrong but I dont' think Journey is going to be a working dog.  I am not seeing anything that tells me he wants to work livestock. Today I let him wander out to the big field where the sheep were and he looked at them and ate sheep shit and they moved and he moved to eat some more but never once did he offer to control or gather them.  So I am no the hunt for  a new pup.  It may be because he has been sick since Aug or it may be his age , but I was not really impressed when I first got him home and put him on ducks and everybody kept saying "he' just a baby" And he still is a baby but I should be seeing something. If he wanted to chase the hell out of them I would be happy but he just doesn't seem to care much.  sheep or goats although he is more interested in flighty sheep.

And he is incorrigible.  He is into everything. I can't leave him alone for 1 sec or he is picking up somthing that he shouldn't or on top of somewhere that he should not be. Still trying to keep him off the counters. No is not in his vocabulary. I love the little bugger  but he is a lot of work.

This week he is on new nose meds and clavamox again.  His nose is clearing up again but he needs to sneeze out what is caught in there so the inflammation will go down and stay down.  But what the hell money is no object.  At least it wasn't when I thought I was treating a working dog, but now I am treating a pet.

I bought some no climb fencing tonight because I want to redo my working pen and also make a pen around the old stone grille parts that were dumped out back and then the goats and sheep can jump on it and hopefully wear their feet down.  I worked on a take pen today which is all done except for attaching the cattle panels to the posts.  I need some wire ties and need to hammer in some staples.

I gave the paperwork for homesteading this place into the appraisers office and got some more info on filing for and Ag exemption which is not has hard as I thought but they said the appraiser would be out to check out my property which means I need to have livestock on the property when he comes and I have no way of knowing when that would be so I may have to hold off on that until I sell up north.

Trailer

I went to an RV repair place yesterday to drop trailer off to have the damage underneath fixed , but they told me they could do it while I waited because it was so minor and how lucky I was that it did not destroy the side of the trailer.   Yay.  It only cost me $110  and another $100 for a new spare .  I had to drive to 3 different places to get the spare.  Of course it is a size that is odd and costs more.

Last night, I went to Gale and MIkes for dinner and talk around the fire.  It's always a good time and they make me feel very welcome.  good people.

Today , Shane is trying to fix my frig and touch up the ceiling in the bathroom.   I think the frig ice maker is not going to come back to life. Bummer.  I managed to buy a part at an appliance repair store in Ocala for $30 instead of online for $60 but if it's not going to fix the problem then Not sure where to go from here. May have to wait for kitchen reno and new appliances.

My Feb clinic is not filling. Great Another clinic that is going to cost me money.

Journey's nose is back to being stuffed up because the meds ran out.  I am waiting for an order of colloidal silver and I am going to use that in his nose and hopefully that will work.  Running out of hope here.

Leaving campground

Last night while I was trying to park the trailer, I had to drive it around the camp 3 times before I could find a spot that I could actually hook up sewer and water and it's because my water hooks up in the rear of the trailer and most campgrounds put the hook up closer to the middle when you park. My hose is just too short and I'm too cheap to buy another.

And then the hot water wasnt working very well so I unhooked the water and cleaned out the filter and then it was better. Always something.  I have a little quartz heater I have been using since I have been in Ga and I put it right in the bathroom (because there is no heat in there--WTH?) Makes a huge difference in comfort.  Loved it.

So big breakthru with the puppy.  He absolutely asked to go outside to pee last night. It was not a mistake  because I brought him in too early and he immediately scratched at the door to go back out and poop.  Don't like the scratching at the door, but just gotta be quick so he doesnt' wreck anything.

So this morning, there was no water because the hose was frozen and I had to bring the little quartz heater outside to thaw  both ends and the the end of the sewer pipe and in between  I used the air pump to add air to all the tires.  Probably got a flat because it was underinflated and there is damage underneath which will need to get fixed or there will be rot.

So everything is all set except I can't get the  antenna down all the way. Must be frozen  and I don't carry a ladder.  I drove it up front to pay and parked in the sun.  I asked the guy to help me with the antenna but he said ladders were in locked storage and I would have to wait for owner to get there.  50 min later, I tried again and it went down and I took off.  The rest of the trip was uneventful.

Sheep and goats were hungry and happy to see me.

Journey and Kip are outside playing and Edge is in with me sleeping.

The Georgia Chill trial was a lot of fun with great people and great dogs and in spite of the miserable cold , I really enjoyed myself and felt really welcome .

Day 2,3

Yesterday was an Am/Pm trial.
Kip did not Q on cattle. He had a hard time so I crossed the line and helped him so he did Q today on CAttle and Placed 3rd
He got a 1st and a 2nd on sheep so HIT sheep yesterday and 2nd today to Edge

On ducks he won today and got HIT and yesterday HIT and  a 2nd place

Edge got 2 3rds on cattle but scores less than 100 and today  a 3rd but got a 102

sheep 2nd and 4th ysterday --today 1st HIT
ducks 2 scores over 100 yesterday  today a score over 100

so Kip cattle 1.5 pts this weekend
sheep 5.5 pts  pts
ducks 6 pts

Edge cattle 1.5
sheep 6.5 pts
duck s4

And then south of Atlanta on my way home , a trucker pulled  up next to me honking and pointing so I pulled over and I had bad flat on my trailer. The tire was shredded. I called Good Sam and they were there within an hr.  I think there is damage under the trailer but it was too dark to see.  I pulled over shortly after to a campground and went round and round trying to find a spot that I could hook up the black water as well as get water and elec because of the way it's set up on the trailer.
I am hoping the hot water will work perfectly tonight so I can take a long hot shower and go to bed.
I'm tired and it has been a long weekend.

Day 1 trial

It was cold today but bearable.  Small trial and we were done by 3 .

Edge started the day on cattle and he had a cow who chased him all over the arena and then when I told him to hit the cow was not impressed and tried to pound him  into the ground so I repenned them. Kip had a better run but not great.
Sheep were light .  Both had scores over 100
Kip was 2nd Edge was 4th
ducks Edge 1st , Kip 2nd

GEORGIA

It was 450 miles but I stopped at a KOA last night.  They gave me choclate chip cookies after I checked in.  It was right off the highway and it was noisy but I still slept pretty good. I didn't start driving again until 11 because I only had 130 miles to go.

We got to Padgetts after a slight wrong turn down a dead end street. Thank you Gps.  Some nice man let me turn the trailer around in his driveway and even helped me so I didn't put it in the ditch.

I have the trailer all filled with water and the heat is going and it's nice and cozy in here, but the water pump is no longer putting out  enough water pressure to the on demand water heater so that my hot shower is barely hot. Works fine when I have a direct connection to water but not when I am using the holding tank.  Too bad because this weekend I'm really going to need some hot showers since the temp will be below freezing and there is going to be a wind chill on Sat too.  And I left Fla for this.
